Hello and welcome to Granite School Board 7 Vote Melinda Flint, my campaign website.

Why am I a candidate for Granite School Board 7? Because parents need a voice. I was born in Utah and have lived here all my life. I have been a teacher for 22 years and a parent for 32 years. As a parent of daughters, my oldest daughter just had her first baby, so I am now a grandma. Our youngest daughter just graduated from Kearns High School and is enrolled at the University of Utah. I have real-life experience that gives me the ability to represent parents, and I listen to them.

I Stand For And With Parents

In my 22 years of teaching experience, I taught for Granite School District for 12 years. It would be a conflict of interest to teach for a school in Granite School District and be on the Granite School Board 7, so I am no longer a teacher in the district. I was also the president of Reagan’s Booster club for the Kearns Drill team for the last 2 years. I helped my husband, Darren, who was the webmaster for the 2019 Tax Referendum. Because of this, I am uniquely qualified to represent you on the Granite School Board.

NOTE – Meet and Greet, October 1st at the Magna Library from 2:30 to 4:30, we will have treats

There was a vacancy in the Granite School Board, so they appointed my opponent, so this is the first election for both of us. In my 22 years of teaching things seem to be going downhill fast. I have seen a trend across the county that school boards do not seem to care what parents think or want to listen to them. Parents are an important part of the foundation of our schools! Parents have the right to play a key role in their child’s education! I will fight for the rights of parents if elected to the Granite School Board 7.
